| Seminar / Demo Sessions Description |

The material is presented in three 90-minute sessions plus a 30-minute wrap-up session. Each session is a lecture/demo format preferably using the equipment installed at your facility in addition to our own lighting and sound gear. Session A: Fundamentals of Stage Lighting (90 minutes) - Addresses the subject from the lighting designer’s & master electrician’s viewpoint. • Lighting instrument construction, characteristics, and safe handling • Electrical properties • Troubleshooting techniques • Basic tools Session B: Fundamentals of Lighting Design (90 minutes) - Addresses the subject from the lighting designer’s viewpoint. • Lighting instruments selection and placement • Color selection • Cueing techniques for a theatrical production • Lighting design documentation (Assumes the participant already has been introduced to basic stage lighting) Session C: Basic Theatrical Sound (90 minutes) - Addresses the subject from the sound engineer’s viewpoint. • Basic concepts of stage sound • Microphone characteristics • Speaker characteristics • Signal path and associated processing techniques • Troubleshooting techniques Session D: Workshop Wrap-Up (30 minutes) – Summarizes the subjects covered during the three main workshop sessions
