Theater: A Christmas Carol

Our popular telling of the Christmas Classic. Follow Scrooge's adventures on Christmas Eve on the seventh anniversary of the passing of his partner Jacob Marley.

The tale of Ebenezer Scrooge unfolds in front of your eyes with other worldly visits from Jacob Marley, and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. The Cratchit family and Scrooge's nephew Fred show the old skinflint the true meaning of the holiday. Tiny Tim reminds all of us with his famous blessing "God bless us. Everyone."

Bill Daley of the Recorder writes:
"... A Christmas Carol is a one-act play and runs about and hour and 15 minutes. The stage is bare except for black cubes which are arranged in different ways to suggest a fireplace hearth or a bed. Characters not only don a variety of human roles, but perform as clocks, window shutters, and bed posts.
"The audience will see everything, so the actors will be viewed as the characters and as a troupe of actors putting on a show." ...

Running time: ~ 75 minutes

This show script can scale up from a minimal cast of seven actors playing multiple roles to a larger cast including extras for crowd and party scenes.
