Mrs. Claus in Menopause

Our latest offering is a hilarious one-woman musical

Doris Claus' merry disposition is disrupted by her hormones, husband, mother-in-law, two kids, and impending elf strike. Join Doris on Christmas Eve as she ties up a few loose ends and tries to salvage what is left of her mind.

Sandi Kahn Shelton of the New Haven Register writes:

"If you've never given any thought to what it would be like to be Mrs. Claus, you're not alone.
" ...Mrs. Claus is not a cartoon character at all, but instead is the perfect symbol for something all of us struggle with: how to be ourselves in a world which threatens to eat us up with its demands.
" ... After all, as the one-woman show illustrates by letting us eavesdrop on her telephone conversations, she's dealing with a teenage daughter, a son who's trying to find himself, a couple of in-law things, some hormone surges here and there -- and, oh yes, an elf strike. And while it's great being married to a great man like Santa, it still does take some work ..."

Sue Cheeseman of the Branford Review writes:

"On Sunday afternoon I spent a few hours with a group of women - approximately 160 women between the ages of 40 and 500. Yes, 500 - this is not a misprint. The eldest of the group was Doris Claus, wife of Nicky Claus - Santa Claus to kids.
"... Doris Claus's cup runneth over with hysterical one-liners and amusing original songs. The actress portraying Doris Claus ... is perfectly cast in this delightfully hilarious one-woman show.
"The creators of this merry madness are Kathleen Dahill and Patricia A. Souney. Kudos to three multi-talented women.
"I'm still laughing."

Siblings

Winner of Connecticut's ACT CONN Best Production Award

Siblings is a musical celebration of brother and sister relationships. Each cast member portrays several characters in a series on monologues, songs, and scenes that explore the rivalry, loyalty, jealousy, and love that epitomize the lives of a variety of sisters and brothers.

Corinna Clendenen of the Shore Line Times writes:
"...The props set the stage. They consist of 4-foot-high sculptural letters that spell out "SIBLINGS." These white props are draped with an assortment of clothes, like a messy room.
"The nine-member cast plays a variety of teenage brothers and sisters who wrestle with typical family rivalries and attachments. Their spats include fighting over the telephone, a bicycle, the bathroom, the computer, which parent loves who best. The lyrics allow the siblings to describe their relationships in the slang of their own generation - 'We love 'em a lot - NOT'"
"... The Broadway show tune style, with its fast beat, is well woven with the dialog. The exchange between spoken word and dialog is quick, at times rapid-fire, with lines shouted between bits of song. This is quite appropriate for the teenagers who play it." ...

Running time: ~ 75 minutes

This show script can scale up from a minimal cast of nine actors playing multiple roles to a larger cast with individual roles.

A Christmas Carol

Our popular telling of the Christmas Classic

The tale of Ebenezer Scrooge unfolds in front of your eyes with other worldly visits from Jacob Marley, and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. The Cratchit family and Scrooge's nephew Fred show the old skinflint the true meaning of the holiday. Tiny Tim reminds all of us with his famous blessing "God bless us. Everyone."
Follow Scrooge's adventures on Christmas Eve on the seventh anniversary of the passing of his partner Jacob Marley.

Bill Daley of the Recorder writes:
"... A Christmas Carol is a one-act play and runs about and hour and 15 minutes. The stage is bare except for black cubes which are arranged in different ways to suggest a fireplace hearth or a bed. Characters not only don a variety of human roles, but perform as clocks, window shutters, and bed posts.
"The audience will see everything, so the actors will be viewed as the characters and as a troupe of actors putting on a show." ...

Running time: ~ 75 minutes

This show script can scale up from a minimal cast of seven actors playing multiple roles to a larger cast including extras for crowd and party scenes.
